Audience

This session is designed for those learning about the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 5th Edition (WISC-V A&NZ) for the first time, and intern or provisional psychologists requiring access and training in this measure.

Course Description

This live, online, two-day training provides a comprehensive overview of the WISC-V A&NZ administration, including examples of item administration. It will also cover the analysis of strengths and weaknesses at both the subtest and index levels and outline digital approaches to assessment. The training will also involve small group discussions and case study analysis.

Learning Outcomes

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the uses for the WISC-V A&NZ in clinical settings
  • Prepare to conduct a WISC-V A&NZ assessment
  • Administer, score, and interpret the WISC-V A&NZ
  • Work with small groups to discuss and interpret case studies
  • Analyse primary and ancillary index scores
  • Analyse the strengths and weaknesses at the subtest and index level, including index-level discrepancy analysis
  • Interpret the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria including links to other relevant assessments
  • Describe and utilise the digital administration approaches with the WISC-V A&NZ on both Q interactive and Q global

Prerequisites

All participants are required to:

  • Register on Pearson Clinical to receive a User Level C
  • Hold either full or provisional registration as a psychologist, be a psychologist in training, or work as an intern psychologist
