Audience

This learning track is intended for psychologists familiar with the MMPI instruments and interested in learning about conducting diversity-sensitive assessments with the latest version, the MMPI-3. 

Course Description

This advanced, 3-hour on-demand workshop is intended for psychologists familiar with the MMPI instruments and interested in learning about conducting diversity-sensitive assessments with the latest version, the MMPI-3. The workshop will include a brief overview of the MMPI-3, a review and discussion of literature pertaining to use of the MMPI instruments with members of various demographic groups in the United States, a review of cross-national adaptations of the MMPI instruments, and recommended best practices for diversity-sensitive assessment with the MMPI-3. Case studies will illustrate diversity-sensitive assessment with the MMPI-3. Participants will have access to this course for one year.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

• Examine the research literature on use of the MMPI instruments with members of various demographic groups in the United States.
• Evaluate updates to the MMPI-3 that make it more suitable for diversity-sensitive assessments.
• Analyze cross-national adaptation of the MMPI instruments.
• Apply best practices for conducting diversity-sensitive assessments with the MMPI-3. 
• Interpret MMPI-3 protocols following standard interpretation procedures and considerations for diversity-sensitive assessment. 

Prerequisites

• To be eligible to purchase this content, individuals must be a registered Psychologist. 
• ​​​​​​​It is assumed that attendees have had graduate-level training in psychological testing and assessment.
