This training is designed for individuals who have completed the Administration, Scoring, and Basic Interpretation training, and/or reviewed the MMPI-3 Training Modules or are otherwise familiar with the updated version of the test. Attendees will further develop their MMPI-3 interpretation knowledge and skills by acquiring greater familiarity with the development of the MMPI-3 Validity Scales, as well as the normative changes and their implications for interpretation. Participants will have access to this course for one year.

Audience

This offering is targeted for users of the MMPI-3 who have completed the Introductory modules or are otherwise familiar with the updated version of the test and want to increase their knowledge of interpretation of the validity scale.  

Course Description

This training is designed for individuals who have completed the Administration, Scoring, and Basic Interpretation training, and/or reviewed the MMPI-3 Training Modules or are otherwise familiar with the updated version of the test. Attendees will further develop their MMPI-3 interpretation knowledge and skills by acquiring greater familiarity with the development of the MMPI-3 Validity Scales, as well as the normative changes and their implications for interpretation. Participants will have access to this course for one year. 

Learning Outcomes

After completing this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify the foundations of the MMPI-3 Validity Scales.
  • Describe how the MMPI-3 Validity Scales were developed.
  • Address confounds that need to be considered when interpreting these scores. 
  • Apply the interpretive guidelines for the MMPI-3 Validity Scales.
  • Discuss the empirical literature on the MMPI-3 Validity Scales.
  • Interpret complex MMPI-3 Validity Scales profiles.

Prerequisites

  • To be eligible to purchase this content, individuals must be a registered Psychologist.
  • It is assumed that attendees have had graduate-level training in psychological testing and assessment. 
  • It is recommended that users have completed the MMPI 3 Introductory module training.
