A step-by-step look at your Pearson Pharma journey

Let Pearson connect you to a comprehensive portfolio of psychometrically validated clinical outcome assessments (COAs). Some of our most widely used COAs in clinical trials include Vineland-3, BDI-2, and WAIS-IV A&NZ, and many others.
Below is a snapshot of your next steps and what each one entails.
We recommend that you begin your Pharma journey with us a minimum of 20 weeks ahead of your study’s start date.

Customer inquiry
It all begins with a conversation.
We have found the best way to support your unique goals and to help you achieve your desired outcomes is with a conversation. Each engagement begins with your organisation expressing interest in partnering with us in your research study. If you’ve partnered with us before, the request may happen through a conversation with your Account Representative. New engagements begin with completing the Request a Consultation form to get connected with an Account Representative.
At this initial stage, your Account Representative will reach out to schedule a discovery call. If you’ve never partnered with us before, your Account Representative will also provide a Master Licensing Agreement (MLA) application for you to complete. Based on your application, Pearson’s legal team will provide our MLA for you to review and sign. This will enable us to move forward with study-specific licensing. Your account representative will also ask if your study is in the RFP or confirmed study category.



Licensing contract finalisation
We’ll work together to draft the licensing contract.
Once the details of the study have been confirmed, your Account Manager will share a first draft of the licensing contract — including pricing and copyright information — for your review. In this stage, additional communication is often required to ensure that all details are accurately reflected.
We understand that protocol details sometimes change, making repeated review and verification of the contract critical to a successful outcome. This process may involve updates to the scales to be licensed, usage volumes, translation quote revisions that must be communicated to external vendors, and/or training package modifications that must be communicated to Pearson internal teams.

Project execution
Your Pharma project is underway! Here’s what’s next...
Delivery of existing materials
Upon receipt of payment or purchase order, existing Pearson intellectual property will be available to you as electronic deliverables. These can include Pearson published materials and/or existing (certified) research translations as outlined within the statement of work.
Launch of translation project (if applicable)
Pearson partners with vetted external translation vendors to produce new certified translations as contracted within the scope of work. The Translation Support team monitors the translation project lifecycle and delivery performance. With successful stakeholder collaboration, the team applies methods and procedures to oversee the development of defined deliverables within timelines.
Connection to Pearson digital platform team for API integration (if applicable)
If you are interested in accessing Pearson content via API, an initial call will be scheduled with Pearson’s technical team to determine whether our API offering can meet your requirements. If you decide to move forward, we will provide detailed API documentation for each product you want to integrate and schedule a meeting to walk you through the documentation. An account will be created for you in the Q-global® test environment, which you can use to test your ability to hit our API endpoints. Once the integration is tested and working, you will be provided with a production account that is loaded with the usages purchased via the licensing agreement.
Provision of training (if applicable)
A training partner will be assigned to work with you. They will schedule and deliver training per the details outlined in your licensing contract.

Receipt of all project deliverables
You will now have access to everything in your contract. It’s time to begin your trial!
Pearson Translation Support will ensure access to, and receipt of, all documented project deliverables as outlined within the statement of work. This can include: Pearson published materials, existing (certified) research translations, and contracted new (certified) translations specific to the project.

Pricing
In the spirit of transparency, we think it’s important to share our pricing to set appropriate expectations for your study. The table below outlines the fee structure for each step in the process.

Licensing | $20,000 | Fees for constructing and executing the contract, access to professional guidance through the process, and basic assessment consultation. |
Digital Procurement Fee | $3,000 | This fee applies to each language and each test delivered for all study licenses. |
Change orders | Included | To reduce billing events these are covered in the licensing fee. |
Translation | Study dependent | These are provided in a quote during the drafting of each study license. |
API | $5,000 | This covers the installation of an API to utilize our scoring and reporting system (Q-global). Maintenance of the active API is an additional $5,000/year. |
Scientific consultation | $500/hour | This gives access to our assessment experts and trainers to answer questions concerning administration, scoring, psychometric properties, or interpretation. |
Training | Variable | Training is required for our endpoint measures. Fees apply. |
